sex and the city: does big die?

Having watched the trailer of the Sex and the City film (again and again)—and full well knowing that the producers have created some dream sequences or something to throw off audiences—I can't help but wonder if Big bites the big one?

All of Big's scenes are pre-wedding and, instead of Carrie getting jolted, maybe Big gets hurt—say, an accident involving his poor heart, maybe? The only post-wedding shot of Big in the trailer is when he's in the white closet holding the shoe: very dead-finance daydream, no?

I guess what also set my mind off was when Miranda and Carrie are shopping for Hallowe'en costumes, they're both in black. The ladies in the series almost never wear black altogether, except when Miranda's mother passed away. It may seem a leap for them to wear funeral gear at a costume shop, but in the SATC world, it's not impossible.

I'm not sure how much Chris Noth wanted to be involved in the film and having his character pass away would surely free up his time and give Carrie some conflict for the film. I definitely liked his character, but the more I think about it, the more it seems likely. Having Big cutting and running seems too easy.

Also, it's how Carrie is able to hire a personal assistant, played by Jennifer Hudson. Big bequeaths money to Carrie, which solves her financial problems, and she can get some extra help.

What do you think? Are you ready for the return of Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon (who looks incredible), Kristen Davis, and Kim Cattrall? Are you amazed that the women look as young as when the series ended? And, is the movie the end for Big?

UPDATE: See my new post on the Sex and the City film.

I think that he does. I watched the trailer twice, and the second time it confirmed what i feared. Big dies.

I frantically googled "does big die?" to see if anyone else thought the same thing. Carrie does not get her happy ending.

Good writing, sad audience. What is the rebound to solve the problem of Carrie's unhappiness and singleness? Aiden? Too obvious. Maybe she ends with Big's baby? Life isn't as what it seems?

AHH! Suspense is killing.

Naw, it's not a major, major character.

Rumor mill I heard is that it is Stanford who dies (who is close to Carrie and whose death would affect her deeply). Seems likely something happens to him on her wedding day though.

I've just watched the full-length movie trailer and it dawned on me: Mr. Big dies. In the beginning I thought the great disappointment Carrie had on her wedding day (we could see from the first scenes released that the wedding was called off for some reason) was finding out that Big was cheating on her, or that he had second thoughts and left her at the altar, but now I think he really dies. I hope I’m wrong beacause it's just too sad! By the way, Stanford doesn't die, for we can see him at the church receiving bad news from wedding planner Anthony.

unfortunately i think he dies.
in season 6 he goes for a heart unblockage & after research on google (yeh im sad) it doesnt mean your 100% clear of any heart problems so maybe he dies of a heart attack on the way to the church. OMG im off to see the movie tonight so im taking some tissues :(
